Bridge To Terabithia

I remember when I was in primary school there is a girl transfer to my class. I remember she was tall and when she is standing she has this thing with her feet bending on the left and stand with her right. Her hair is straight with length up to her neck parted from right. She is smart and there is something different in her stand out from the rest of our class. Weird in a way but outstanding most of the time. And she has one thing beat our guys real hard are that she can run really fast. I still remember her look resemble just like Esther Ku.

The movie start off when Jesse meets Leslie just as the way I describe just now. Yes, even the hairstyle. I can’t believe it is in the mind somewhere else than mine. The story unfolds from the Jesse’s point of view. This artsy character reminds me how I draw recklessly everyday when I was a kid. On the wall, on the table, on the text book, on shattered little piece of paper and almost everything that my pencil lead can sit. Any animal can talk, every toy is alive. Is like a whole new world in itself.

Bridge to Terabithia is written by Katherine Paterson based on a tragic event that occurred on August 1974 when a friend of her son David Paterson, Lisa Hill, was struck by lighting at a beach and killed when both are 8. David co-write the screenplay and produced the film altogether. You can be sure this is more than a movie business but also a personal touch from the one who experienced the real event.

Do you ever have a crush with a school teacher? My class used to have one. Jesse has Ms Edmond. One my favorite line is from her,

“Mind like yours keep open, it can create a whole new world.”

And there is a track Keep Your Mind Wide Open performs by Annasophia Robb who plays Leslie. In fact, this is for once. I like the ENTIRE album of a movie OST. Is just so fantastic that I dig in every song.

Here's another line came sarcastically when Jesse lock his eyes on Ms Edmond.

"Take a picture, last longer." Leslie says.

There are 3 more songs sing in the movie, O-o-h Child, Why Can't We Be Friends? and Someday. These songs sound so innocent when the children sing it and located in different plots of the story, adding deep and impact.

The story rest on the shoulder of a bunch of young and talented actors and actress. Needless to say, the main cast did a fascinating job but watch up Bailee Madison (May Belle Aarons). One that can act like seasoned cast around her at the age of 7, I’m amazed. I’m looking forward to see these guys grow up and take a stage.

I remember I have a friend like Leslie when I was a kid. I always take a slow walk after her home whenever I drop by that area. I know she's not there anymore. But it is still sad when you realized you can no longer access to them. Somehow they gone without notice you.

"It's my fault!" Jesse says.

Well, this is a sad story. Bring in some tissue with you when you watch it. Because I weep too. I suggest this movie is a must-watch.

Plot Outline: Fifth grader Jesse Aaron's hopes of becoming the fastest runner in his class are dashed when new girl Leslie Burke outruns everybody, including him. However, Jess and Leslie soon begin a friendship, and create a magical kingdom in the forest, where the two of them reign together as king and queen.
