I have a kick today! I knew it when I was so die hard in completing my work and do submission right on time.
It was very lonely when you have to work alone and everyone is not. At the same time, the task was so difficult to get the right result. Long hours come around again.
But I knew it will be glorious when the moment I’ve completed my work. I felt so shiny when my production manager was so surprise for my early submission without have to box me 10 times. Next things were a “Well done!” from my fearsome directOR and his FYI mail from headquarter proving all my works. Only 5% turnover. I almost hit the ceiling when “A Very Good Submission!” drop in my mailbox. Is from the GM. All my superiors pads my shoulders.
"In life, it seems difficult but all it takes was just a little more from yourself."
If you know me better or if you have work with me before. I guess I am a hard-pressing guy to you. I get things done nicely without excuses in the middle. No PARTY. No MOVIE. Yes, I’m stressed. But I know it’s all because work is undone. Honestly speaking. If I go party I will be more stressful. On top of that, I want it done superbly. In many ways, I’m quite forgiving to sincere mistake and humanly tiredness. I know the way to success. I can lead people to win. All I need is you staying with me. Just a little more from yourself.
In winning, it is calculate-able. But I’ve seem countless people drop half way in the name of too tired. Simply because they never calculate how to win and quit before the finish line. Sometimes I wonder do they have finish line to start with. If they know what I know, the competition will be much more fun.
I remember Transformer Competition back in Emerge. It was a tough call. I got the job last minutes. All people do was just cheering. We’re the one san fu. Of coz, there’re some really nice people helping out. I’m thankful. In the starting, many people drop by helping. But the team getting smaller when the tiredness amount. Only 2 persons stay through with me. Chee Yang and Yosua. Yosua, he was just a new art student totally raw in skills. He was blur and weak in English. I almost want to strangle him in the process. At one time, I felt he is wasting too much of my time and left him alone. I asked him to leave. BUT, he stays. He follows. He stays through all the sleepless night. Without have to be the smartest or talentest guy. He holds the trophy together with us. I’m glad Chee Yang and Yosua make themselves a winner by overcome themselves. All it takes was just telling themselves “One more sleepless night” every night. I do the same myself.
I always am hunting for these people, to bring them to future. But sadly, most people I met are too tired for "one more..."
By now, I guess you’re thinking I’m insane. I take it as compliment. I always heard people reading newspaper or praising some sportsmen saying “They’re crazy, how they practiced?” I have seen Ronaldino’s warm up video where he hit goal post from miles away, ALL on target. MJ or Reggie Miller buzzer Hit. I shouted out “CRAZY” too. Jaw drops looking at these god-like acts.
I know how they did it. All it takes was just telling yourself, “One more night, one more try, one more page, one more day, one more… just one more…” by the moment you feel like giving up.
Well, we all have special grace in different area of expertise. If I were doing law I could die no matter how many “one more try” I tell myself. That’s another topic anyway. Choose your interest foolishly not carefully. You might miss your dreams by being overly careful.
