a resurgent heart

Here's what happened on Saturday, I went back to visit uncle Jeremiah and show support to his family, dear friends of mine.

Upon arrival, greeted by aunt Grace, it wasn’t hard to notice her weight lost and also her trademark smile give me a moment thinking everything was fine. But I soon find out it was not, uncle was weak, pale, and hardly talk but what he had to say, is something I’ll remember as long as I lives…

“Commit to the Lord.”

“...Never leave the Lord.”

We nodded.

I stood there speechless, looking at his deteriorating body outmatched his own will... we left. Stop at Joanne’s and dine with her family. They also lost their mum few years ago with the same disease – cancer.

Sail back to KL.

A few days later, uncle passed away. I can feel the earth is silent for a long while… or was it just me. Another few days later, I'm back again to pay my last respect.

It was a big funeral, hundreds attended each night for 3 heartening nights. Little did I know him personally, I never thought he will have an impact in my life, but not until now…

Funeral service, white flowers, used tissues, most of the attendees were old. The testimonies shared by many shares the lost of a good friend, a leader, a loved one. But what send me into 6th dimension is when the testimonies echos “we will see him again, we will die too…” Like everything fast forward, I saw myself sleep inside the coffin, lifeless.

I saw vision of those faithful people I know is doing good deeds and storing treasure in the storehouse of heaven, I saw how uncle lived a faithful life, lived sacrificially, also visited a scene where Jesus keep reminding His disciples that His death is coming...

I finally see the light.

A light that bought me to understand, we are here to do good, to give, to offer and leave as soon as we done. This life is a test. A preparation for eternity. Whichever calling we endure, each as unique as finger print. All the same - to give, about others. World mission, feeding the poor, or love your wife, feed our kids. I believe you have more to add…

I came back with a new heart. Things start changing now.

I dunno, if I should be sad or happy.. But either way, I'm glad He's back with Our Father God.. I love this post, and for some reason, as saddening it is to hear you lost a relative, I'm really glad that you saw the light and shared this post! :)
