against the current

Warning: This post’s nature is more likely favor the video game enthusiast and stock investor. It contains technical insight of the subject – video game industry. But if you would like to know more, you’ll gonna enjoy this. Consider yourself warned.

Console wars have been ragging for ages. It’s getting fierce-some when it arrives to 6th generation. People even getting religious of the console they support. The scale of the catastrophe grow explosively even my indo cell member’s parents is playing Wii at home. I think this is lovely. Imagine the parents boxing each other with Wii controllers. At least, even if you don’t plan to buy one, you would ask which one better?

Everyone in the game world knows, Nintendo Wii has dominated the market. More than 981,000 Wiis were sold during NPD's November reporting period, besting the Xbox 360's 770,000-unit total and more than doubling the PlayStation 3's 466,000-unit tally. Its stock price sky rocket and become the most famous name in Japanese household. We all didn’t see it coming as we think Nintendo was actually fading away. But it caught us by surprise. If I knew, I could have been rich by just keeping some of their bluechip stock.

But here is my new insight. It could be your chance to get rich. Buy PS3. This is the purpose of my post.

Few days ago, I was checking price in one of those expensive game retailer. Wii is costing 1,8++, Xbox 360 1,6++ and PS3 1,5++. These prices are quite high. The lower price could be 200 less if you hunt around low yat or Sungai Wang. PS3 was the most expensive hardware when it’s first launched but the cheapest now. Dig around google, you can be sure PS3 has the most powerful spec among the 3 but was losing ground mainly because they are expensive and few AAA titles. People go to the cheaper Xbox and many good games waiting for them.

To share some insight as a game developer, here’s something different. First, Microsoft lost 3 main third party developers. These guys could make games for anyone now. Xbox’s exclusivity game is getting lesser. Second, Xbox has heating problem. Hardware quality is low. I’m making a game; I would love to put on a more powerful machine. Xbox longevity is getting shorten. Third, Sony is open to many developers to make game for them. Expect more good games. Forth, PS3 exclusive titles are coming next year. You can bet Final Fantasy 13, God of wars 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 will turn the tide. Current games doesn't looks much different between the 2 simply because developers haven't utilized PS3's core power.

When all these happen, we can see the price will shot up again. Everyone wants a piece of PS3. You can buy a stock or two from Sony or a PS3 for your husband or bf this Christmas. It will become the best investment in return. Don’t feel like how I like for the Nintendo stock price now. Is too late.

Well, this is personal opinion. People are really religious about this topic. Take it if you think this is a useful advice. One year from now, we can justify with result. We'll see.

On the side note, game industry is one of the youngest but also the fastest growing industry. It’s year-to-date total to $13.12 billion and puts it on track for a record annual total of $18 billion to $19 billion has out beat Hollywood 2006’s 9 billion. Many still thinks we don’t have a proper job. But it doesn’t matter when we actually celebrate with each other throwing money in the air in our backyard. Excited! Really excited! OHH~ I want a PS3 so badly…

This is hilarious.

P/S: EH!? Feel like writer ler~
